Seven-year NFL star veteran, Arian Foster, after three injury-plagued seasons, has decided to join The Miami Dolphins, signing a one-year contract with them.
Foster’s agent, Mike McCartney announced the deal through social media, tweeting “Congrats to @ArianFoster agreeing to a 1 year deal with the @MiamiDolphins.”
According to ESPN, the deal is worth $1.5 million but with its added incentives, its worth goes up to $3.5 million. ProFootballTalk also reports that Foster will receive a $400,000 signing bonus.
The ex-Houston Texan runner back had been under rehab for his torn Achilles Heel that forced him to end his seventh season with the Houston Texans in 2015 after just four games.
According to the Detroit Free Press, this deal comes at a time when the Dolphins starting halfback, Lamar Miller, left them for the Texans during a “free agency.”
Foster will no doubt be using this deal as a way to kick-start his paused career. The Dolphins, on the other hand, are clearly hoping that a healthy Foster will not only add a veteran star to their ranks, but a veteran who Gordon McGuinness of Pro Football Focus has ranked as the fifth best free agent runner back of the offseason.
