The Future Queen of England’s sister is no longer single as Duchess Kate Middleton’s younger sister, Pippa Middleton, has accepted a marriage proposal but to the disappoint of some fans, her future husband is not Prince Harry.
James Matthews, a hedge fund manager, will soon become a member of the royal family as he became engaged to Pippa on Sunday, July 17 during a trip to the Lake District.
The Britain’s Press Association has reported that Pippa and Matthews were already living together but had been dating for less than a year when Matthews decided to pop the question.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are absolutely delighted with the news,” a statement from Kensington Palace read.
According to the Telegraph, Matthews asked Mr. Middleton permission to marry his daughter before proposing to her.
“They make a wonderful couple and we wish them every happiness together,” Mr. Middleton said to the Telegraph.
The engagement ring Pippa is sporting is believed to be from London jeweler, Robinson Pelham, the same jeweler who, according to the Telegraph is a “regular source of jewelry for the Middleton’s” and provided Kate with her diamond earrings for her wedding day.
Pippa and Matthews have said that they’re expecting to marry sometime next year in 2017.
