A day after the Secret Service said they were opening up an investigation on Madonna for her comment about “blowing up the White House,” Madonna has clarified her stance on social media, stating that the line was taken out of context.

During her speech at the Women’s March protest that was held in Washington, DC. Saturday, Jan. 21 Madonna told the crowd that she has seriously considered “blowing up the White House” as retaliation for Donald Trump winning the presidency but that she knew it wouldn’t “change anything.”

Madonna clarified her stance Sunday on Instagram, saying that she was “not a violent person” and was not promoting violence in anyway. That comment, she wrote on her Instagram, was meant to be a metaphor, showing how she felt at the outcome of the election but that she was calling for unity and “positive change in the world.”

“[T]he only way to change thing[s] for the better is to do it with love,” Madonna wrote.
